Podcasting with Audacity 2.0

I have been using the Audacity software tool for a while now both on a personal level as well as for training purposes in the development of podcasts. Audacity has progressed from version 1.2.4 to the latest 2.0 release and there has been some marked improvements. Even though we use it in education for creating podcasts one should remember that it was originally created by musicians for musicians and as such will always have features specifically to enhance and create music files. The 2.0 is the new stable version of Audacity as the beta version still has some bugs abd would crash from time to time. One of the most useful improvements with the newer version is the ability to split tracks without having to create a new track and in that sense it has become more intuitive. The ability to add markers to the track in my opinion is still under-utilised in education circles and is something I believe that has the potential to add great value to the teaching and learning process. Here is the download link if you want to try it out for yourself and perhaps leave a comment of your own experience. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Editors-Recorders/Audacity.shtml. This would be a grea tool to use in combination with SOUNDCLOUD. See my previous post for more details on SOUNDCLOUD.
