Venue Equipment Training

A Few years ago a number of our lecture theaters were upgraded to make it more user-friendly ie by having a central control unit installed in a lectern from where a lecturer can switch between various devices/ hardware in the venue. This new digital version was aimed at standardizing equipment and therefore simplify support. The presentation below is the initial Powerpoint used to supplement the presentation. The presentation is usually accompanied by a hands-on session to enhance the experience. This post also serves as an example of how web 2.0 tools can accommodate the delivery of multimedia in a distance learning context.
Venue equipment training is conducted on a regular basis throughout the year to familiarise new staff and first time lecturers to equipment available to them in the the lecture theatres.I include a video on a previous presentation to get an idea what the training is like. If you can make sense of these presentations then perhaps there is no need for a hands-on but I highly recommend it. I hope that this post can serve as a just-in-time training resource. See the Powerpoint presentation for contact details should you have any further questions.
